ImmersaView Portal allows you to use third-party services to authenticate your account. This page describes exactly how this works, and what information is being stored by ImmersaView.
A number of services on the Internet support common sign-in protocols such as OAuth2. ImmersaView Portal uses these protocol to allow other services to authenticate you.
The main advantage is that you won't have to remember your ImmersaView Portal password.
When you use one of these services, your password is never passed to ImmersaView Portal.
The only information that ImmersaView gets from these services is a unique Id that is chosen by the service.
This unique Id is typically a sequence of letters and numbers. It uniquely identifies you on the third party service.
The third party service tells ImmersaView Portal that you successfully authentiated as that Id.
No further information is used by ImmersaView Portal. We do not use your email address, nor any other information.
The first time you use a third party service you will have to link it to an ImmersaView Portal account. Once you have done this, ImmersaView Portal will store:
No, all access is strictly read-only and the minimum necessary to allow authentication.
Although some services will offer information such as your name or email address, ImmersaView Portal does not use nor store any of this information. The only information that is used is the unique identifier.
